Does anyone know whether I can fit a compact without having to buy new gear mechs? Cassette is 13/25, mechs front and rear are Centaur

IIRC, it's just a case of adjusting your chain length.

Thanks. I’m planning a week in the mountains but don’t want a major upgrade project on my hands

I figure that if I get an ultratorque compact then I can just switch the RH crank over

I have a Centaur UT compact chainset that works find with my Record mechs.
You used to have to make sure you had a small/medium cage depending on the size of your cassette but I think they might have changed these days as well.

Why would you only change one side?

I only need it for a week, saves a bit of time
