Tyre/Fork Clearance

What is the safe clearance between the top of the tyre and the underside of the fork?

I have just put 2.35 Schwalbe Big Apple Liteskins (26 inch) on a Rockshox Recon Silver, fork and the clearance is about 5-6mm. Is this safe?
