Hi,
I'm thinking of getting some v-pad brake blocks for my road/commuting bike
Something like these maybe:

My thinking is that bigger surface area will give better braking, esp in the wet.
Has anyone tried this?
thanks

Depends on the calipers, rim depth and clearance, but they do make skinnier road ? versions

Increased area doesn't improve barking, in fact in the wet it makes it worse as you reduce the surface pressure.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
