Odd bloke on the way home....

Saw a weird one on the way home tonight, picture the scene, not quite rush hour, just after a heavy shower, I'm on the MTB with slicks and not in any particular hurry, I pull up at the lights behind a middle aged, suited bloke on a knackered looking old hybrid, trouser legs tucked into socks, anyway, the bloke looks behind, sees me, and takes off through the red light like I'm pointing a gun at him.
Lights change and I ride on, he's pedalling like a hamster and all over the road, I'm debating whether to pass him but I'm seriously worried about his mental state, I back off and he RLJ's again and decides to take to the pavement to avoid stationary backed up traffic.
Really, really odd. :x
