I can't decide which mavic wheel to go for , the cosmics are not much heavier than equipes and are aero profile
Is there any noticeable difference between askiums and equipes ( similar weight) or equipes and elites ?

I would say there's a difference between the three, yes. I thought the Equipe's would be every wheel I'd ever need until I tried the Elites. Signifcantlty smoother and more responsive. They just feel snappier and lighter.
You think the Aksiums are good until you try the Equipes. You think the Equipes are good until you try the Elites. If that makes sense?!
I woulnd't bother with the Cosmics (I take it you're on about the Elites and not the Carbones??). Don't seem to offer any advantage other than a slight weight penalty. If you want something 'aero' and aluminium then take a look at the American Classic 420's.
For an everyday do-it-all wheel then I'd thoroughly recommend the Elites. FWIW - I've owned a pair of Aksiums, two pair of Equipes and the Elites for the last 9 months. Never had a single issue with any of them. Used all year round, in all conditions.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0 -
The Cosmic are a waste of money and the Equipe are hardly an upgrade to anything. If you really like Mavic, then wait for an offer on the Elites, which are the best wheels they make...
These with all the usual reservations on factory wheels and lack of spares and blah blah blah
BTW: in 1982 we had 1600 grams wheelsets, I don't know how they can still sell wheels that weigh more than that as light wheelsetsleft the forum March 20230
