Well i decided that i wanted to buy a new carbon bike i have a Pinarello just but decided i wanted to something a little better so i bought the Trek Madone 5.9 Di2
I took delivery of the bike today and decided to take it for a little 40 miles run while i don't think the Pinarello is a bad bike this one is just so much better or should i say miles better i took the Trek over the roads i usually go, now some of them are a little bit rough but the Trek just made light work of them on the Pinarello i thought i had a jack hammer on the bars and the brakes are just brilliant compared to the Pinarello all in all i am very happy and impressed with Trek and after about 2 miles wished that i had changed a while ago it was that good.... i try to do about 200 miles a week and i know that it will just be that much better doing them now on the Trek.... sorry Pinarello.
I would also like to just say a big thankyou to Alpine Bikes at the Tiso centre in Glasgow this is my second purchase from them, there service was great from start to finish and would strongly recommend them to anyone i know...thanks lads
And just to end a little picture... cheers all and happy riding

You see all those little full stops you put at the end of the sentence - if you can spread them out a bit more evenly you'll be a lot easier to read!
Anyway, smart bike - make sure you keep the bar tape cleanFaster than a tent.......0 -

Nice bike mate, welcome to the Trek club, don't worry about the white tape being good quality it'll stay clean quiet well, just give it a clean every few rides and it'll stay like newOne plays football, tennis or golf, one does not play at cycling0 -

The granma police strike again. When critizising people, do you know them? Have they learning difficulties? Are they native English speakers etc?
I read it fine, understood it, added my own pauses etc.
Please unless you know the person personally stop.0 -

I wasn't being a grammar policeman - I was just pointing out that I couldn't really read the paragraph without intense concentration.

I think that should be: "Unless you know the person personally, please stop." However I would have an issue with the phrase 'person personally' so would go for "unless you know that individual personally, please stop".
Also you wrote granma police.
(sorry, just messing... couldn't resist)When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro0 -
Only one thing worse than poor grammar, and thats people posting O/T in your thread about it. Oh, that incldes me too. Apologies!!0

I did all that on purpose to show that it is still readable. I wondered who would take the bait.0 -
More worrying is
the ungrammatical lo res photo from the wrong side
saddle bag
bars tilted up
lots of under spacers
where is that di2 battery?
I am not anti Trek, but you dont get a 'nice bike' motif until issues get addressed.... of course if this was a Cannondale, any ol sh1t would do0 -

No - sorry, I won't. I'm not going to pussy foot, politically correctly, about every possible consideration of why someone posts the way they do. Someone writes a 5 line sentence and I'll damn well make a fairly soft and vaguely humourous hint about it if I want to. If someone wants me to take into account their poor English (for whatever reason) then they can put something in their sig about it. Otherwise they can accept that they'll get some grief from the grammer police and deal with it themselves, and maybe explain it themselves, rather than having some PC do-gooder do it for them.
Is that OK?Joeblack wrote:Nice bike mate, welcome to the Trek club, don't worry about the white tape being good quality it'll stay clean quiet well, just give it a clean every few rides and it'll stay like new
Probably not unless it is Fizik Microtex or similar. Cork stuff seems to stain permanently.Faster than a tent.......0 -

The battery is under the frame just at he back wheel its in a plastic cover and well covered from the elements
[/url]
As reference to my grammar so sorry that i upset some people i was just so happy to be able to afford my new bike i just wanted to share it with everyone else ( i will make sure i get someone to check it over before posting)
The handlebars just look that way because of the way i took the photo sorry it was just a quick shot i just wanted to take it out for a run but the ground was wet outside so i knew it might not be a clean later so photo was taken on the rush.
Last of all thanks for a great comments really happy with it, all i need is a another nice day0 -
What a smasher! Well done.0

nice bike but it looks like the bars need rotating down a bit and what the f*** is that thing under your saddle that looks like a crocodile escaping from a sack?
Rule 29
still a nice bike0 -
Its the bag telling me to stop taking photos and take me for a bloody run0
-
Every thing is OK and the bike also looks good. But dont forget the rules. The handle bar should be lower than the seat and saddle bags have no place on a road bike. You need to refer the rule no. 29 and 44Custom build Trek MTB
Madone 6.9 => Madone 7series0 -

Well....I, unlike you, have said tape and from experience (not a guess) can tell you it has kept in good nick quiet easily.
And you my man should find something better to fill the day with than trolling a forum, do you think folks look and say "ooooooh look at that big smart man with his good grammer" or are they are thinking "oooooh look thats the little gerbil man who needs to get a life"
Just asking? One plays football, tennis or golf, one does not play at cycling0 -
