Shimano Altus rear mech option

Just bought a cheap carrera Vulcan xc but the shimano altus rear dérailleur is broken and I need to purchase a new one. Can't seem to find these widely available and the ones I am getting appear to be in either USA or HK!! Is there an equivalent that will fit? Alivio or acera maybe? Will they work? It's an 8 speed with a triple chain set. If anyone can help that would be great. Cheers

they are as common as muck. just ask your LBS but any shimano rear mech that is not a road one or is 10spd will work."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Indeed, unless both have changed their business model recently and gone overseas for tax reasons they are clearly in the UK.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
