i currently have a look carbon seat post,i raised it an inch and where it had been clamped before it started to crack.
im not the lightest man around.95kg and 6-2" (im not fat, just a weightlifter)
would i be better getting an alloy post or will a new carbon post be fine?
it has to be a set back which i suppose doesnt help
thanks

Try a Thomson set-back post. It's aluminium, but it's (apparently) really strong and well-made. It's also got set-back (16mm).
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
I recently switched to a Thomson setback post for exactly this reason and it has been just fine. Doesn't weigh any more either btw.0

I have an Easton ct2 carbon post, no problems as yet and I'm 98kgs, also not fat.0
