What do the riders gain from winning the World Tour? It looks like Wiggins has a chance but Rodriguez could possibly pip him with a good show in Il Lombardia. Does anyone actually care? To what extent will Wiggo try to defend his position in the race this weekend, if at all? I think Purito needs tenth place in the race to pinch it (assuming he isn't going to the tour of beijing?) I'm sure this is doable for him, does anyone else think so?

    No, dont think so. The Velo d'Or on the other hand is pretty nice to get, I'd imagine.

    There is a trophy, but in the style of modern sports trophies it's pretty shoddy. The one Gilbert got looked like a block of perspex left behind by the builders doing Fat Pat's conservatory.
