Thinking bout getting a MTX beam rack and bag for getting a few bits and pieces to work.

Are they any good, do they swing around or does the clamp hold well....

Had one for a while and used it to transport my work clothes on.

It held well, and I had no problems with the clamp.

My only gripe was the rubbish, very flexible bungee cord that came with it, prone to "wobbling" and did drop a bag on a couple of occasions. Real bungee cords fixed that issue.

I'll echo blu3cat's post; I have one and have used it on two bikes without issue; being easy to swap in seconds. I'd recommend that you get one of the Topeak bags that mount on to it rather than just bungee-ing bags on. I also find it was a good place to mount another rear light (in place of the reflector) and a mini pump and spare inner tube (strapped under).
