Mrs C suggested taking our 5yo along to this as a means of getting him to do group activities. However it just looks like learning to ride a bike and he can already do that. Any experience anyone?

What else can I do with the lad in SE Wales? We like to pootle over the Severn Bridge now and again. He's not old enough for the roads around here unfortunately... Last time I took him offroad in Wentwood he fell off in a puddle and that was that for the afternoon...

We have taken our 2 children to the tots cycling at the velodrome a couple of times and it has been an enjoyable hour for them. They get to meet other children and learn some bike skills.

That are loads of places to take littlies riding in and around Newport: The Brecon Mon canal is nice and gentle with a few places to stop off for a drink and something to eat. Cycle routes 47 and 49 cover a lot of the canal.
The cycle route between Newport and Caerleon was recently completed as well. It's a nice little ride from Crindau (behind Sainsbury's) following the river Usk. Cycle route 88.

Check out THIS LEAFLET for routes.
