New fella here so aplogies if this is in the wrong place............
Just bought the Garmin Edge with maps and Cadence sensor. Set off for my first ride with cadence only to discover that the magnet part that attaches to the pedal has dissapeared (badly fitted!!!) anyway, called Garminn for what I thought would be a simple spare part buy only to be told I have to buy the whole unit at circa £50!!
Does anyone have or know where I can get one without having to pay £50?
Cheers
Simon

You can get a kit that includes the official one here:

Smarter people than me will be along in a minute to recommend you don't bother with that, and instead buy a small rare earth magnet from ebay (for less money) that you can attach to the back of your pedal spindle and use that instead.0 -
Yes just get a small magnet as advised above......works a treat!Boardman FS Pro 2010

Here you go:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neodymium-Disc-Magnets-12mm-dia-x-3mm-thick-Pk-of-10-/221126243674?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item337c26b55a#ht_1093wt_922
Neodymium magnets are much stronger than normal magnets, so you won't have an issue with losing them, and its not an issue that being on the end of the pedal axle, they're that bit further from the sensor.
I've got a stack of these stuck to the side of my fridge and they're a bu66er to get off !Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Thanks For that info, out of interest if you stick these magnets onto the end of crack arm does it still work given its not aligned with the indicator line? Or do you just move the sensor unit so it aligned up?London2Brighton Challange 100k!

like the idea of that - when I needed an addition for my second bike I used one of the spoke magnets and a couple of cable ties.0
