All, looking for experiences (good and bad) from those who have started new cycling retail businesses... any views welcome, anyone with similar plans also welcome to discuss and exchange ideas.. also what would you like to see in a new mid to high end shop? cheers

  • I would highly recommend you give Simon at London Cycle Workshop a call. It's on St. John's Hill in Wandsworth, he set it up about 2 years ago and business is absolutely thriving. It's more of a service centre and they sell gear (but not bikes). The folks around there seem to love it. He used to work at a cycle rental place in the New Forest, felt that he could set up a proper shop here and it's worked. I'm sure he'd be happy to chat.
  • cheers, 3 mins up the road from me :)
