Garmin Edge 500 or 705 for same price

I'm looking at dipping in and buying a Garmin but am trying to decide between the 500 or 705.
I've found both online for around £200 with cadence and heart rate sensor brand new. Clearly the advantage of the 705 over the 500 is that the 700 has full mapping. But what are the disadvantages and any other factors, or is the 705 only the same price now because it's getting pretty old?

If you want maps go for the 705. If you want compact go for the 500. All other features are pretty similar.Rich0
