Rain X on plastic?

Was looking at buying some Rain X for the winter (though would have been good for the summer).
But I have seen in some adverts that it should not be used on plastic - given that my glasses have plastic lenses it would make it useless to me - is this true? Can you use it on plastic lenses?

I always found it to be rubbish on glass anyway. Worked briefly - but not very long at all.
Oakley have hydrophobic lens coverings and a little pen that you can use to apply it - maybe thats sold seperately?0 -
I shall go search for it! Thanks for the heads up.0

The problem with RainX on plastic is that it can destroy some hardcoatings. Determining whether yours are at risk is near impossible to determine as far as I have been able to find although some manufacturers will mention in their user manuals if RainX is OK to use with their lenses.0

Rain X also needs quite a lot of wind speed to remove water - it works on motorbikes and cars at about 40mph so I dont see it really being any good on bike glasses....Your Past is Not Your Potential...0
