Best Brake Pads

The brakes on my CX bike (Tektro Oryx) are pants, they're adjusted up lovely, and grip strength is something I don't lack but they just don't "bite" They have, however, polished the braking surface to a mirror finish!

What's the best pad, lifespan isn't really an issue compared to performance as I come down some steep hills at rather a high rate of knots
