Headset removal

Hi,
I fitted an FSA headset into an old frame before i realised the back half of the frame is bent (probably suffered damage in an accident). Is it possible to remove the headset from the bike and re-install it in another frame or will it become damaged if I knock it out?

Yes, a rocket tool is the best way, but can be done if careful with a hammer and screw driver. Tap it gently out.0

Steel outered bearings you're unlikely to damage with a screwdriver, up through the headtube against the lower lip and one sharp blow, then another at 180 degrees and they are usually out....
Alloy ones are easier to damage!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
i usually use the 1/2" long socket extension bar, down onto the endge of the cup and tap it out,Timmo.
