    Dramatic irony is the device of giving the spectator an item of information that at least one of the characters in the narrative (the person who placed the sign) is unaware of (at least consciously), thus placing the spectator a step ahead of at least one of the characters. We all knew that when the fountain started it would make a nonsense of the sign.

    This was my exact thought when I took this photo, I thought won't the bike radar forumites really appreciate a spot of dramatic irony.
