Damn... Summer holidays free me up for 6 weeks... I think this is a little less time than the operator would want to rent the property out for...
Unfortunately, I don't see this as a venture that could really make you a lot of money. You would take on the task of renting it out as a summer let and find the market is pretty small. Morzine, Chatel, Alpe D'Huez - all dead in the peak MTB season whilst I've been there. I was surprised by how few riders and how little 'life' there was. I think it makes sense for the operator to sub-let as it covers their costs without the hassle. Unless you want to do this for sh!ts and giggles, there won't be much profit in it after rent.
Hell, I'd do it for six weeks, but only because I'd still have an income at the end of the day.0
