I got a pair of leg warmers from ebay about 4 months ago, and they no longer stay up. The silicone gripper on them has wore away a good bit after i washed them a few times. Im not sure if its because my legs are smaller because I have lost weight (2 stone) or the gripper is long dead.

Can anyone recomend a pair of leg warmers they can vouch for staying grippy even after going through the wash?

I have some Nortwave ones I bought about 4 years ago and still going strong.
  • I have some Santini leg warmers from Prendas that I've washed many times and they still grip.

I have some Assos ones that are still holding up after 8 years - I've chucked away numerous pairs of cheaper ones in that time.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Borrow your wife's or girlfriend's sussy belt?

I would have to ask the wife what a sussy belt is first

  • I have a pair of Lusso Roubaix leg warmers that are still going strong after 12 years of use. I bought them for a training camp in Majorca in 2000. Cost me £20 so in terms of VFM, pretty damned good if you ask me :-)

  • This year I’m using Assos S7 legwarmers:

You can’t see in the pic too clearly but the inside goes all the way up to your knackers and the outside covers your entire hip and a bit of back side, so you get more warmth than a standard leg warmer and the extra material gets held up by your bib shorts so there’s little or no slippage. I splashed out on a pair of these and a pair of T607 thermal bib shorts.

The Specialized ones are awesome. They stay put (70 mile rides and they're right where I left them), are warm, windproof, and good value.

Anything but cheap crap off eBay.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
  • I just bought some Specialized Arm and Leg Warmers.

    The Arm warmers seem fine.

But with the Leg Warmers, I just tried them on on my bare leg with boxers on (not with bib-shorts etc.) and they're slowly drifting a tiny bit down my leg when I've put them on and that's just when I'm standing still, are they too big/small?

Or is it just the size of my thighs thats probably doing this and I should be ok when I've got all my gear on out on a ride?

Sounds like they're too big. I have sparrow legs and the mediums don't move on me.

  • +1 for Santini. Also one of the few brands that caters for the super skinny. I love my XS leg warmers.
