Absolutely if you need a frame. Good 120mm XC frame for sure. Not the best, but good.A Flock of Birds
+ some other bikes.0 -
Cheers guys, I'll be running it for the minute with some pikes dialled down to 120mm, should ride alright shouldn't it?0

Can you run them longer? I'd say 130/140 would be optimum. The head angle is a touch steep, and the low slung bb means that adding extra for length doesnt make it ride like a barge.A Flock of Birds

Yeah they're u-turn so i can run then as I want really, I just thought that I'd have to run them at 120mm as that's how the bike was built out of the factory0 -
Have a play and see what feels best. No real risk with it.0

I thought after our little foray down the lower section of Cwmcarn DH you were going to get a DH bike?
You've got them beat on the uphills, but you need something bigger to keep up with Ben & James on the downs0 -

Yeah that's still the plan to get a dh rig, it's just I've got loads of bits and bobs in the shed and I think this frame is pretty cheap so I think I'll build it up.
I could've kept up with them of I'd wanted to though ;-)0 -
Careful, if Lawman reads this he'll give you a lecture about how all specialized owners drive audis and all specialized bikes are grey and boring and are the spawn of satan himself.
I say go for it, good frame.0 -
My 2009 Stumpy FSR (same geometry) came with fox Talas 140mm up front so you'd be fine going for 130/140. As benpennick says, it'll also lift the otherwise low BB. A nice ride...Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

I'd dial the front to 140, it'll bring the geo upto date and it'll will ride really well on rough trails and give more confidence when you get some gravity on your side.
Frankly 115 is a bargain (don't tell him that)....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Yea, me too (Notttt)
Sounds like a bargain, go for it!0 -
Cheers guys, looks like I've got a new bike then.
They'll be a felt frame and some other bits and bobs up for sale soon then :-)0 -
Nice frames, nearly identical to my 2010 FSR XC Pro. BB is a bit low, and steep seat angle: benefits from a longer fork.0
