Dear Just looking at the Boardman Elite Air 9.0 and the Pro Carbon and i was wondering if anyone out there knows the difference between the two other than the paint colours, bars and stem. They appear to be the same specification and geometry?

I know this seems a strange question but I cant seem to identify an major differences to warrant a £400.00 difference in price.

The obvious answer is the frame but I cant seem to get this confirmed by anyone? Ultimately it is possibly the same bike.

Regards

Rob

    Who did you ask :?:
  • There doesn't seem to be a direct contact for Boardman on the website. Halfords haven't responded yet and I'm still chasing. The elite retailers seem to say that according to Boardman reps its in the carbon, but they don't really seem that convincing that there is actually any difference.

If its the two frames that I've googled they don't look the same ?

Edit - Google images lied - they look identical bar the finishing kit. Same weight too - is the Air the one thats in LBS and the other in Halfords ? So Halfords benefit from buying in bulk and get a better price ?

From the boardman website descriptions the only real difference (in frames) I can see is that the Air is UD Carbon and the Pro is not (at least not obviously so).

So potentially one is normal cross weave carbon and the other visually resembles plastic.

Although as they are painted anyway not sure you can really notice!
    Yellow is the new Black.

When you read into it though on Halfords site the pro is T800 uni directional carbon also
