Mudguards on Easton EC90X Fork?

Can I fit a proper front mudguard (e.g. SKS Bluemels or Chromoplastic) to an Easton EC90x fork on a cyclocross bike? It has mudguard eyelets near the drop outs. So far, so good (?). But there's no hole near the crown where a pivot brake would normally screw in. Is that a problem?

So how do you fit the guard to stop it sliding to the floor, presumably off the brake.
    Yellow is the new Black.

It's fine. I did some more research. The picture below clarifies. You can install a conventional mudguard to EC90X forks. The mounting hole is just concealed behind the crown.
