Merlin were part of the American Bicycle Group until last year.
Before their acquisition by ABG they made some very nice Titanium and Titanium/Carbon frames. I can't comment on the quality of the frames whilst under the control of ABG, but they stopped the production of some of their nicer (i.e. expensive) frames. If you search the forum there is a long thread on how ABG called the police on a forumite who tried to make a warranty claim and claimed he was harassing them (or their UK distributor).
The brand is now owned by Competive Cyclist (www.competitivecyclist.com)

That's the info I was looking for. I have been offered, for sale, a Merlin Ti framed bike and was hoping to look it up on their site. I'll try the Competitive cyclist site.0
