im deciding which to buy the trek 3500 or the rockrider 5.1 Im kinda focusing on the weight more than anything else. I really need help on deciding which to get. Im kinda leaning towards the trek purely because its a better manufacturer.

What is your budget, and is it for cross country and light trails? Trek is not a better manufacturer really.0

Get the B-Twin. Much better value for money. Nowt wrong with the Trek, but it's a ten-a-penny bike, so ditch the badge and go for the better bike.0

Why not look at the Rockrider 5.3 at the same price, much, much better bike.0

i did its just its not dicathlon isnt on the cycle to work scheme so it would still be £300 were as the trek is so it will be about £1800

The Trek you link to is actually £300. Rockrider 5.3 is £299 and everything on it is way better. Way, way way better - forks, brakes, mechs, shifters etc.
If you are saving £120 on £300 you are in the 40% tax bracket. I'd save up for a month and buy the better bike.I don't do smileys.
