Lock for in the region of £20

Hello all,
not for me, but we just bought my gf's Dad a fairly nice Trek Valencia hybrid - retailed for £500 two years ago, so fairly nickable I would reckon.
He doesn't ride long distances, leave it anywhere very dodgy or leave it for a great length of time, but I am aware compared to the last old bike he rode (no name and salvaged from the river) this will look highly desirable in comparison.
The best suspect I can find is this Kryptonite one here, it seems with all of the current boom in bikes, no one is offering any stunning deals:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kryptonite-KryptoLok-Series-Standard-Cable/dp/B005YPK8G2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Anyone have any other suggestions?
It has QR front and rear, the above comes with a cable lock as well which he could thread through the front wheel, or I have seen a QR cobversion kit for £10 - changes the lever to allen key type arrangement.

Hello mate,
This is a decent challenge, the one you found on Amazon is a good deal but if you wanted to stay under £25 a few other options I cave scouted are:
http://www.rutlandcycling.com/42078/Kryptonite-Keeper-12-Standard-D-Shape-Bicycle-Lock-with-Bracket.html
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/squire/zenith-zr-combi-6-900-intergrated-chainlock-with-led-ec033572#features
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KRYPTONITE-EV-2000-ATB-LOCK-NEW-/160595604466?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Cycling_BikeLocks_SR&hash=item25643e73f2#ht_500wt_1054
I recommend the last one, top lock for £24, even if it is ex display!

Thankyou very much for that - hadn't considered a chain one, but it might be more suitable for him come to think about it, and no key to lose or break too.
The ebay one looks very good, and the other one seems to be no longer available, when I click buy it takes to a canyon gift pack :?Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

IMHO any lock that can be bought for £20 will probably only be good for display purposes. S'pose if its never going to be left anywhere long...
i say spend the extra tenner and get a krypto mini http://www.parker-international.co.uk/20109/Kryptonite-Evolution-Mini-5-with-FlexFrame-Bracket.html?referrer=froogle&utm_source=google&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=pid20109 £30 here reduced from £45
its light enough to carry around and not made of cheese.0 -
