Rear light?

  • I am of two minds as to whether a big light is 'too bright'...I have an Exposure Maxx-D (on medium in the city), and an Exposure Joystick on my helmet, on full flash. There's a fellow near me who also has a Maxx D so I've seen what it's like when I'm driving a car. The issue with dimmer lights is that, say for example you're cycling inf ront of a bus with its headlights on in the winter rain, it is extremely difficult to spot the bike. Whereas, with a monster of a light it's clear there's something other than a bus. If I were you I'd look at the Exposure efforts. The rear lights (called Redeye) are 80 lumens (I have 2) and really are rather bright. They have also been 100% reliable for the past 2 years, in all weathers.
