Looking to buy a MTB for some light trails and a bit of local off road tracks and maybe some cycle tracks for travelling to work. Budget is £750.
Seen a few bikes and would like some advice on each, the 2 GT ones are from my local dealer and I know I wouldn’t have any issues with the build of either.
I want a bike that has a good frame that will be upgradeable in the future should I get more into biking!!

On paper the best bikes there are the Boardman, Cube and Canyon0
-
I'd imagine they'd all pre pretty poor on paper though, too slippy you see. Plus he's not riding on paper he's riding on light trails and a bit of local off road tracks and maybe some cycle tracks for travelling to work.
Sorry, I'm pretty heavily medicated at the moment because of my knee. I'll get my coat.
I like the boardmans though. Very nice looking frames on them.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I've also seen this which i may be able to stretch to if i go through the cycle to work scheme. How does it compare to the others? Looked at a 29er as i'm 6'3 and heard they are more suited to tall riders.

You aren't particularly tall though, so 26, 29 (or others!) will fit fine!
Seems decent enough, but if pushing the budget up to a grand there are others to look at.0 -
Ok, have you got any i should take a look at? Thanks0

Boardman Pro is a great bike, as are the Radon ZR series.0

Supersonic, how does this compare to the ones you mention?

Nice kit on it, but is over 1000 quid, so a step up from the others you mention. The Radon series are better value mind.0

Supersonic last question which do you think is better speced 2012 or 2013 version....
2012 http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/Produ ... ode=125881
2013 http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/.Cube ... 127855.htm
I can probably get the 2012 cheaper too. Like the look of the Radons but would prefer to buy local for sizing etc and with it been my first bike for a while can always take it to the local shop if i have any problems.
Cheers0 -
From those two, the 2012 is better specced.0

Thanks for replying again, really like the Cube LTD but not sure which model to go for or which year!0
