Clicky lever

I'm using Shim. 105 the type that brings the gear change cable out of the side of the hood, yesterday the left (front mech. compact) went awol. sometimes it would/ wouldn't change, although attempting to click. I'm aware that these do have "history", any info greatly appreciated about spares -best method of attack etc. At approx £120 each it's not a road I choose to ride down, I've looked on flea bay & it may prove to be an option. Many thanks.

If it's become a bit hit and miss, it's more likely that the cable is fraying inside the shifter. Detach it at the mech end and pull the brake lever; you should then be able to push the cable out and inspect it.
If the thing has failed completely, you might be able to get it replaced under warranty.0 -
A friends 105 left shifter went, he sent it to Madison (the importer) they gave him the complete runaround, in the end he bought a cheapo replacement through ebay, depends how long you're prepared to wait...............0
