Help Please : Route from White city to Oxford Gds to Canal

Hi
I am trying to work out a decent route from White City (A40) to get back on the Canal path and get to Maida Vale.

One option is to go up Scrubs Lane and join there, but that road is pretty busy and I am not too keen on it.

The other option looks like getting onto Oxford Gardens but I cannot tell from the map if I can get there from While City.

Can anyone help with this at all?

    It may be better to head north east from White City and pick up the canal further east around Westbourne Park.

    First challenge is getting across the West Cross Route.... I know there is an underpass down by Westfield and I assume there are others further north but can't tell you exactly where. Assuming there is somewhere you can get across, I'd cut through the back streets of Notting Hill heading for the bridge over the canal north of Westbourne Park tube where you can pick up the canal again.

    There are lots of ways through Notting Hill and none of the streets are that busy.
