Rockrider 5.3 or Ghost SE 1300.

I'll be buying something this time next week and so far I'm comparing everything to the 5.3 as well as keeping my eyes peeled for a decent second hander (Fury, Voodoo, etc etc). I've just come across Ghost bikes, though. I can see their top range stuff has good reviews but what about the lower end?

Would that be because of the components?

Rockrider has a better fork. Quite a bit better ie has hydro damping. And 9 speed kit.
