I've taken my headset apart and like a fool forgot what order to put everything back. The cups and bearings are still in. Can anyone help from this pic.

I found these instructions at bottom of post, so would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what all these circles are??
I believe 3rd one in top line in my pic above is the "COVE"
The 2nd one in on the top line is the "CONE"
4th one in on the bottom is "top cap"

The bearings are on the bike along with cups. Is that what you meant by missing>0

Reminds me of the Forks I bought, previous owner couldn't eliminate the paly in his headset............
Yes I returned it.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
possibly,The old Manitou SX fork had a part on it that I couldn't get off. It looked like it was part of the fork. I guess I need to try harder0

If you've now lost it you'll need a whole new headset.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways. The missing piece was the crown race!! I didn't realise it took a hammer and a driver to release it0

And something similar to fit it.
Try reading parktools someday."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
