strange brake problem

Just bought crux elite crosser with avid bb7 discs
Suddenly there is a noise every rotation of the wheel which sounds like something catching. the fact the noise occurs once per revolution, and varies with speed leads to to assume there is something on the disc rather than the pads ( which would create a continuous noise ).
However, have wiped the disc down and sanded with light emery paper and the noise is still there.....havent pulled the pads out yet as they wouldn't cause a rotational noise, only a constant
Puzzled....anyone any clues??

new rotors and new pads? just use it and they will sort themselves out.
it is often just the surface finish on the rotors causing the noise untill eveything beds in.
Some noise is normal."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

thanks. will see if it beds down. I have just had a thought that one of the disc bolts may have worked slightly loose and is catching on the fork/caliper so will check that as well

Some Loctite products are not suitable."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
