    The reason I've seen given before seems to be that people prejudge that clubs will be cliquey and that they aren't the sort of people who like being in clubs (doubtless there are plenty of clubs that live up to the pre-conception but most don't) or that clubs aren't suitable for them as they are too busy and have to do all their training at about 4.00am (or something along those lines). I would make being a member of a BC registered club essential in order to do any races other than Go Race.
