leg massage for achy muscles, does it help?

my legs ache today, and theres a thai massage place down the road, its raining, im bored, and wondered if its worth paying for a leg massage? does it help ease achy cycling legs? and guys, seriously, they actually do massage :mrgreen:

  • try sitting in a cold bath. this pushes the blood to the leg core aiding muscle recovery. try an ice cold bath if your brave!

    you'll need a deep tissue massage, sadly, and they are painful

    I use a bit of 4inch drainage pipe 2 ft long and just roll my legs on that about 10 times, if that helps.

    Rest ice compression elevation RICE works well for me, but not as much fun
  • I had a deep tissue massage after London to Dover whenever it was this year. Usually there's a big queue as its free but as I managed to make it as one of the first down there I didn't have to wait. It hurt like hell and gave me cramp twice.

    I felt much better afterwards though!
