Hi all
Got my eye on a second hand frame for a build I'm planning on doing. It's a 2005 Orange 5 currently on eBay and looks a bit unloved, needs a new paint job but is described as free from dings and cracks. Comes complete with a Fox RP3 which I won't be using.
Any ideas on what i should be looking to pay for it?
Cheers in advance

personally no more than £100.0

That's the sort of figure I was hoping someone would say as it's what my initial reaction was.
What else should I be considering for that sort of money? I was hoping to get the frame and powder coating for less than £250 if possible.

Depends what sort of bike you want really. Older stumpjumpers are worth looking at (same sort of thing).0

I paid 200 quid for a 2001 Heckler - sounds like Supersonic thinks I over paid! It had just been professionally resprayed and decalled but the shock was tired.
Ebay is one of those places where things can go for silly money - I looked at loads and lost loads having set my budget at 225 for the frame. A 2005 Orange 5 even if tired could break a ton easy I'd have thought. But you can sell its old RP3 to make some cash back.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
It'll be used for trail centre riding in the main, would want it to be able to take a 140mm fork at both ends really.
Open to suggestions though!0 -

This would be a good deal for around £150, imo. What size are you looking for? The one above is unclear on sizing. Afaik, Santa Cruz has never made the Heckler in 18", only 17" and 19", and they size up small too.
Edit: just seen they mention "medium", which would be Santa Cruz's 17".0 -
Unbelievable - the frame I was interested in on eBay went for £360!!!

I can't get my head round it - back to the drawing board me thinks!0 -
The key is to look for a good frame not a popular one........ Also look for an auction ending at a silly time.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
