Hey everyone,

First of all, this looks like a great forum, i've got loads of usefull info from it already!

I'm new to cycling and have bought myself a 2012 sepcialized allez sport. very happy with the bike and i'm quickly getting hooked on cycling! love the fact that i can just jump on the bike cycle off and see where i end up (without being too long and pissing off the wife!)

My question is about the shifters/derailers etc.

I realise my Sora groupset is obviously entry level (although i'm very impressed with it!), but what are the advantages of something like the ultegra kit? is it just lighter? or better at changing etc?
One of the obvious ones on the shifters is not having the little thumb switch but what else?

i'm not actually after ubgrading, i'm happy with what i've got atm but its always nice to know!

Thanks

Alan

When I read the title I thought you wanted to know about Ron Hills. :o

Yes as you climb the range of kit it does tend to be lighter/stiffer etc but not worth worrying about unless your is creating an issue or you really can't get on with the shape/functionality.
    Yellow is the new Black.
