Overshoes

I have had a pair of Endura overshoes for less than a year. The sole of the foot that I put down at traffic lights has worn away leaving my toe exposed. In my opinion this is poor and the product shoulf have lasted a lot longer. Anyhow, can someone recommend me a pair that will not do this so quickly (and also do the job of an overshoe as well)?

I've had endura overshoes that fell apart. Tried the Prendas windblock and very impressed. Also go some Assos which are for when its really cold and wet.

I have given up on them and simply revert to using SPD pedals and wear a set of Specialized Defrosters as they are bombproof

If a pair of overshoes last more than a winter I consider it a bonus - if you want something lightweight, warm and stretchy then the downside is wear. You could always buy some ShoeGoo and repair the overshoes with a patch of tougher rubber e.g. old tyre carcass.

I'm getting some proper winter shoes/boots at the end of the month.

Sod another winter faffing about with overshoes (which last a matter of months and offer minimal additonal warmth/waterproofing anyway).

I've owned 2 pairs of winter boots, one with a goretex membrane and find them no warmer than shoes and good overshoes and that they do a worse job of keeping my feet dry. Add to that that they're heavy and more restrictive than a good shoe. I'm happy to buy a decent set of overshoes for £20 each winter and put up with the extra 30s it takes to put them on and take them off.

Just warning you so you don't expect too much from a pair of winter boots.
