Tyre changing

Hi there
I'm totally new to mountain biking, the last few years have been spent with motocross bikes. Anyway, I bought a brand new Hardrock Sport the other week and had a problem with punctures right away. The question is, should I be able to take the tyres off using just a couple off fingers......I keep reading on forums about tyre levers and was making me think that the tyres fitted to mine might be a wee bit big on the rims...???? Is this normal.

some people can and some can not.
the tyres will be the the right size. some are tighter than others on different rims."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
