Anyone know of any threads about Trek refusing to honour warranties? I can't find them?
I think they're under the same section as Rocking Horse Poo...(rare as)
I'm not getting old... I'm just using lower gears......
    Sirius - Steel Reynolds 631
Cove Handjob - Steel Columbus Nivacrom
    Trek Madone - Carbon

^ Obviously your Google skills aren't too clever?

Search for Madone seat mast failures and BB cracks - you'll find as few threads on Bikeradar with tales of woe.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I had one that snapped at the drive-side chainstay. But apart from actually breaking it was OK.

I was chatting to a Trek rider at a food stop on a sportive. I asked him how he'd found the climbs and he answered like he was one of Treks marketing team. He started reeling off how the stiffness of his frame and bontrager wheels had helped him conquer the climb. Blah blah blah.
Oh my god, what a tedious bloke  I bet he goes on just the same about his company car.

Anyway, I'm not interested in trying to convert people to Trek, they aren't the only brand in the world after all, and I seem to have become a Giant owner after my test ride

    Good lad!

Welcome to the Giant club....your membership card's in the post... ;)

I don't like Treks because their geometry doesn't suit me.

For the money you pay the frames aren't as stiff, or as light as the competition. Cervelo, Giant, Cannondale all make lighter, stiffer bikes.

My SuperSix is cheaper, stiffer and the same weight than the top of the range Trek 6.9.

As a brand they killed the Lemond brand as well. A lot of the so claimed money they have made, they made it through the wins of a cheat, the cancer of the sport. That is not libelous, it is fact.

In any case there are better cheaper bikes you can buy.
