VIA NIRONE 7 TIAGRA or TREK DOMANE 2.3?

Currently looking at 2 bikes around the £1000 mark and am having some trouble deciding which one.

The first is the Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu Tiagra (£990)

The second is the Trek Domane 2.3 (£1200)

I have test ridden them and still can't decide between them!

The Trek comes with full 105 groupset, whereas the Bianchi only has A partial Tiagra (FSA crank + Reparto Corse. Brakes).

Any advice would be appreciated, please help me decide!

    Comfort then cosmetics.

I doubt you'll be worried by the difference between Tiagra and 105.

Which one is a Bianchi - buy that one.

Sensible question if you're looking to drop 1200 on the Trek then why not go for the Bianchi Alu Carbon with Veloce. its simila price to the trek, better groupset than the Tiagra plus you get the frame with carbon seat stays which is a smoother ride and a better colour (IMHO) although the white is OK if you lose the white tyres.

http://www.epic-cycles.co.uk/Bianchi_Via_Nirone_7.html might even get it cheaper somewhere else, although Epic have a good wheel deal.

  • I've got the Sora version of the Bianchi. It looks the absolute nuts, really really stunning.

Get the impression the Italian car reputation of the likes of Alfa Romeo translates to Bianchi bikes though, it bloody breaks at any opportunity and I am forever buying new bits/fixing inexplicably broken ones.

    Other than that it's great.

    .
Not my experience at all. My 09 Bianchi has been rock solid. My old Alfa coupe on the other hand was a garage owners dream.

I also own the Sora Biachi and it's beautiful. Always gets looks and comments and I find it really good to ride! I only do 40-60 miles a week but it's done me well in the few months I've had it - nothing broken yet either!!
