  • nice - and yellow dust caps :D

momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

Yeah, well they are Conti tubes after all

The only thing that annoyed me was going out with new gloves on on Sunday, damn you white handlebar tape!!!!
  • Nice!

I've just bought the 2012 Peloton SL. I've heard loads of people commenting that they have had problems with their Easton EA30's wheels constantly breaking spokes. I'm hoping mine don't start going south too, but when did yours start giving you headaches?

I'm only 92 miles in so far, but (touch wood) all is ok so far.

  • I found them not too bad actually, probably more to do with me being 6ft 6" & 18 stone lol

I would have thought sub 15 stone shouldn't be a problem. The SL is nice that's what I wanted (last years model) but they were out of stock by time I had got my C2W voucher :-D

    Tell me about it.

I only decided on the SL a few weeks ago and by that time it seemed like I would have had a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa than getting one in a compact with a 58cm frame.I actually know how J.R Hartley from the Yellow Pages ad felt as I must have visited 40+ websites and called quite a few more only to be laughed at as they were long out of stock. I eventually got it from MHW in Germany with a massive discount.

I'm not sure there would be too much difference in performance between the Race and SL as its only two components that are changes, so yours must ride luuurrrvvvvvlllly too!

Thanks for the heads up on the wheels btw. I'm just under 13 stone, so it should be all gravy baby!

  • Yeah was same for me was showing as in stock everywhere until you got to checkout lol
  • I have the 2011 Peloton and love it, but the Easton wheels crapped out after 1100 miles. The spokes kept snapping on the back wheel so I just replaced the wheels. I'm 6' 6" and 16 stone.

Haven't ridden on them yet, although I had spoke A57's which are cheaper before and they were ok :-D

PS, Might go for blue tape (darker) and probably wash new gloves first in future lol
