New bike, do I register it?

I've recently bought a new road bike, a Vitus Razor, and after looking on numerous posts about thefts and safety etc I would like to know what people to when the buy a new bike. Is there somewhere I can register the serial number in case it gets stolen etc?

    Had PCSO leave a leaflet on my bike, she was still nearby so got me details and signed me up. Also but a sticker on the bike and invisible ink stuff to show up under UV light.
