just about to start looking for some winter boots ..
I suffer from cold feet in winter(bad circulation)

been looking at these so far

Shimano MW81 Gore-Tex Winter Boots

CELSIUS ARCTIC GTX
these are my upper limit for buying.

Comments

  • I've got the MW81 and although they're not really waterproof I've never had cold feet.
  • Overshoes/waterproof socks/thermal socks/two pairs of socks/any combination of the above.
  • I bought my celcius a couple of years back. By far the best investment I have ever made for riding in the UK.

yes a little pricey but just so good!
GT XC1 - the harder you ride it, the better it is

Stumpy FSR 2010 - Rides over everything and everyone
  • Yeah I got the Northwave Celius boots (not the arctic ones) and they're very good with a pair of Woolley Boolies. Far better than overshoes and completely water proof, so if you will make use of them and can afford them then go for it I'd say.

I bought a size bigger than standard shoe size (as I have to with Shimano and guessed I would with these as cycling shoes tend to come up snug) but they're a touch big.

Tried over shoes last winter. after a few bike hikes they were trashed.
so I'll go take a look at the northwave me thinks .

Specialized Defrosters? I'm happy with mine. Sealskinz and merino socks add another layer of warmth though.

I bought a pair of karimor waterproof walking boots for last winter and they were fantastic, kept my feet dry, warm and were only 35 quid from sports direct, they look near identical to the shimano ones although they dont have the space for the cleats
    Giant Reign 2
    Crohnie
  • Bragawd, The Shimano boots are one of the best buys i've made. I suffer from cold feet but these help enormously. Pretty much waterproof (it soaks down through your socks but not through the boots), warm, comfortable and if you are out in really extreme weather get the overshoes on too.
Worn mine twice a week through 2 winters so far and they are still in good shape - only stopped wearing them in June time due to our special summer . . .
If you can get the Shimanos on an offer anywhere get em.
