i have been to Lanzarote cycling a few times on cheap holiday package deals . most hotels rent £1000 bikes for around £25 a week . the landscape is like Mars (really !) . check out these recumbent guys doing over 80KMH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG_j7kH5RgEBritannia waives the rules0

Being so close to the ground they must be more stable than a road bike. But being so close to the ground the sense of speed must be amazing. I think I'd need a horse nappyPurveyor of "up"
