Who is that commentator on ITVs' ToB coverage whose pi55pronounciation of said Basque team is driving me to distraction?

Ahhh that with be Hugh Porter.

  • I really do believe Hugh should be pensioned off.
Saying that, for me he has almost become a cult. The poor old sod never ever gets the name of the rider right, his colleague on the presenting team is for ever putting him right.
I sit there listening to the commentary going No No not again Hugh No!
I can understand his inability to get road tactics wrong, as his forte was as a tester. But his track insights should be 100% because of his background as a pursuiter.
You know his heart is in the right place, a bike rider through and through. I just wish he would have his eyes tested, or at least wear his glasses.

Why Hugh why? It's quite easy to pronounce. Repeat after me. Youskatell Youskaadi.

Sorry to bring this up so soon after original post about Hugh Porters commentary. But it really is driving me so potty, that I am now dreading seeing an orange jersey bombing uphill or in a breakaway.

'This World Record is completely unprecitented'

Well you're going to be safe then cos' there riding has been abysmal this year.
  • I quite like Rob Hayles input - you can tell he's had the media training on how to modulate his voice and he's not too bad at it.
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

Now if he can just pretend he likes cycling and doesn't hate being there, and maybe has a shave, he could become an extremely run of the mill presenter! ;)

But seriously, you can tell he's trying, whether its coaching, or just the fact he's doing it more these days, so he's gets some brownie points.
All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!
