Why do the helmets worn by Sky riders have the vents filled in? Surely they are hotter for the wearer?

erm... it is aero - as it says in the article.

Six vents remain on the back, but otherwise it’s totally closed up, with minimal weight penalties and huge claimed power savings.

Power savings = more aero.
