Hi there,
Finally finished building my S3 after a couple of months sourcing parts and money to pay for said parts.
Frame: Cervelo S3 2011
Groupset: Dura Ace 7900
Crankset: Rotor aero 3D+ with Aero Q-rings
Cockpit: 3T Stealth Team Stem and 3T Ergonova Team Bars
Wheelset: Farsport 50mm Carbon Clinchers
Went out on this for its first proper long ride over the weekend (133mile Tour of Britain ride) and all I can say is this thing flys. Averaged 18.3mph which for me is pretty impressive, especially over that sort of distance with the absolute minimum of training. The difference between this and my old SL2 S-works tarmac is huge, especially when really putting the effort in. Also really impressed with the Q rings and in particular the smaller chainring, could really feel the extra power available when going up hills and also the different muscles being used. My favourite part has to be the whooshing sound coming from the frame and wheels once I have got it up to a decent speed
My next upgrade will be to a black saddle as not only does the white one look silly, it also doesn't agree with my derriere at all. Possibly look at a tri saddle as I seem to ride 'on the rivet' most of the time. Apart from this I think there is little else I will do to change this bike, maybe move back to lizard skin DSP tape.

That's a lovely bike! I love the wooshing sound with deep section wheels too! I've never tried the Q Rings but ive only heard good things so I may give them a go. I've never been a believer in the aero road bike theory, but that S3 is really cool!
Have many happy miles on that thing!“Don’t buy upgrades, ride up grades.”

Nice.
Just wondering, did you consider the R3?0 -

Thanks for the comments guys.
I would definitely recommend the Q's. I havent really noticed any difference with the shifting compared to standard round rings.
I may leave the steerer tube as it is at the moment as I dont think I will be able to afford to keep this bike for much longer (off to Uni next week) and I think it will be much more appealing to potential buyers (dentists) with it uncut.
I had a look at the R3 but as most of my riding is done on my lonesome I thought I would benefit more from the aero advantages, and also I think the S3 just looks so much cooler than the R3.0 -
I just came.
