I saw the Liquigas Team Bus this morning on my way to work. They were stuck in the same traffic as me, hardly going to have time for a warm up when they get to the start.

First six or so miles was neutralised anyway. A warm up right there. I noticed a lot of the riders went on their bikes to sign on. Also, the Sojasun bus didn't get to the start until about half 9.

  • I saw the whole peleton today! Mind you, I was on Cross o' th' Hands!
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.
  • Random man and I went and watched the peloton roll out through Wollaton park and my daughter got a photo of Wiggo and Cav as they rode through the city centre in Nottingham.

I got a great one of Cav and Wiggo as well. It ended up on Sky's facebook page.

    Or he is your daughter!
  • Had a spiffing day out at Stage 3 in Dumfries yesterday.

    Got there quite early and managed to grab a peachy spot right at the front opposite the podium and just past the finish line, so had a great view of Cav's sprint. Before the riders came through for the first time, I was in the queue for a sarnie at the Spar opposite the finish, when I realised Ned Boulting was standing behind me, so had a (very) brief chat. Topped it off during a 'meet the fans' up close & personal with the Manx Missile, which yielded my three nanoseconds of cycling fame;

Me: "Great win Cav, well done"
    Cav: "errr... thanks mate"
    Me: "you're welcome"
Cav: "now stop touching me, that's creepy"

Round at the Sky tour bus Cav and Brad were signing autographs before they went off to Carlisle for Stage 4. I had cycled into Dumfries, so followed the bus out into the traffic, and passed the Commisaire's car and Orica Green Edge in the jam that snarled up the centre of town.

Not a bad day out all in all !

    * he didn't really say that.... and I didn't touch him, honest.....**

  • I actually live at Cross Oth Hands and I saw the whole lot. It was awesome. Also got on tv which is a bonus enough but aswell as that I'm pretty sure Bradders recognised me from when I previously proffessed my eternal love for him at the olympic road race. Didn't take any pictures though, was waaaay too busy leaping around like a mad man!
  • On route to Trentham today for the start of the Stoke stage, I was infront of the UCI Skoda, and Team Net App campervan and cars we beside me most the way to Trentham gardens.

I went to Uttoxeter yesterday to watch it come through there. I was impressed by how well the police handled the road closures, we saw around ten police motor bikes running a sort of 'tag' system on the roadblocks, it was a joy to watch.

The riders, of course, swept past in seconds but I did manage to get a few photos, those to follow when I get them off my camera (along with some of some SUPERB decals I've found  )

Went to Gun Hill with the Merc boys and watched the team cars on Oakamoor pacing out the distances for the sprints before the peloton-didnt realise they did that. Then sat on Gun Hill in the sun until the riders came through in four groups-great spot to watch them close up and amazed at the speed of the riders uphill.Until the WC and TdF winner passed by in the autobus??What on earth was going on there,Team Sky were shelled all over the place and believe me Staffs isnt the high Alps.JTL looked like a future GT winner.
Whats the solution? Just pedal faster you baby.
