Chapeau on doing the 125-odd miles. I did the Challenge ride - a mere 60 miles, but a really beautiful ride on a beautiful day, and it was great to finish under the gantry (and I put in a sprint that the commentator bloke made the most of!).
I presume the times will be on tourride.co.uk, but must admit I'm struggling to find anything to confirm that.Summer: 2012 Trek Madone 3.5
Winter: 2013 Trek Crockett 50 -
Thanks for reply glad you enjoyed it , I guess I'll keep looking on the tour site cheers0

Pictures are now up, so hopefully times won't be too far behind0

Bit disappointing you cannot sort them into ascending order, just scanning over looks like i was in top 15% of times so happy with that
I did manage to miss the Gt Yarmouth stop and do a couple Km's further, i wasn't the only one having spoken to other riders at the Coltishall stop, looks like some scamps pulled some directional arrows down
Overall i enjoyed the ride, from just before the Greyhound track for about 30minutes i enjoyed the presence of the police practicing their rolling road block skills. Not having to worry at all about traffic at junctions or roundabouts as a Police halts everything for you is something i could get used to
Did anyone see the 115year old Penny Fathing out on the course? He'd done the shorter route, i passed him just before Swanton Morely0 -
I think British Cycling rules prevent presenting the times as ordered results. But of course you can select the whole table, copy, then past into a spreadsheet which you then sort by time...
Anyway there are 8 times at the top of the 'pro' ride sheet that are definitely from the short option, and there's no way to know if the chap who finished in 6:10:21 was very fast and solo over the pro or just slow over the challenge course.

Hi yea found all the times thanks , did the micro chip trigger off when we started and basically finish at Norfolk show ground of did it allow for stops ie (when not moving) also I read that there were about 800 entries on the pro ride but I can only see about 500 on the finish list with a lot of numbers missing, I ended up just outside the 100 round about 17.7 mph average0

The timer chip started when you rolled over the mat at the start and stopped at the finished, it didn't pause when you stopped at water breaks/rest stops
My bike computer showed just over 6hr45 but timer chip time is 20-odd minutes longer
I average just over 19mph
I fancy some people didn't bother with the timer chip when they saw the long queue to pick it up and riders were already getting underway
2 girls handing out registered riders timer chips with massive queue
2 girls sitting at the desk for "register on the day" with nobody there
Wasn't very well managed that aspect0 -
Yea good point and thanks for the help, still enjoyed the day though0

Great day out and I really enjoyed the ride, plenty of good riders out there and a reasonable level of organisation. I did the Challenge ride with my club. We rode out from Norwich to Yarmouth for the start so completed over 95 miles for the day. Managed to average 19.8mph(moving) over the course, with time spent for stops I finished in 3h24m for the course which I was very happy with. Not happy with paying £35 though, where did all the money go?!Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

I really wanted to do the challenge ride as there are so few opportunities like that in this area but felt paying more than 50p a mile to ride a bike on public roads was taking the p1ss, you've made me feel better about my decision not to go. I would've happily paid £20 but anymore wasn't fair value imo.
I went out on my own that day and passed in opposite direction to a lot of riders through Coltishall, a fair few tired faces already by then!0 -

Have to agree in retrospect. We stopped at Coltishall for food and all that was there was bananas, gels, bars and water. I probably put no more than £2 worth in my pocket before leaving. Even worse at the end, choice of food was poor and not very appealing(why would I want even more bananas?!)Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?
